Didier Ltd of London, founded by Didier and Martine Haspeslagh in 2010, is unique in specialising in artist jewels designed and/or made by internationally recognised sculptors and painters. We supply a new niche market where the lines between art, design and jewellery are blurred. All the pieces, whether unique or from small limited editions, have come from the secondary art market and date mainly from 1950 to 1990 - we do not represent the artist or deal in contemporary editions. These jewels were considered by the artists themselves to be miniature works of art or wearable sculptures and as such they will complement the larger works that will be on display in the fair.
Furthermore, the gallery frequent lends pieces to international exhibitions including “From Picasso to Jeff Koons: The Artist as Jeweller” organised by Madame Diane Venet, which will come to the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in March 2018, and currently has several works on show in “Medusa” in Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris (closed 5th November).
For Art Elysees the gallery will be focusing on jewels by French artists or those who have worked in France including: ARMAN, Jean ARP, Georges BRAQUE, Bernard BUFFET, Pol BURY, Alexander CALDER, CÉSAR, Jean COCTEAU, Parvine CURIE, Salvador DALI, Sonya DELAUNAY, André DERAIN, Max ERNST, Claire FALKENSTEIN, Alberto GIACOMETTI, Claude
