GALERIA JORGE ALCOLEA
The Gallery Alcolea has been linked to art since 1973, when Alfonso Alcolea and Teresa Albero opened the Sala Nonell in Barcelona, dedicated to modern art. In 1989 his son Jorge Alcolea decided to expand the family legacy by opening a contemporary art gallery in Madrid, where he exhibited the work of emerging artist, many of whom currently enjoy national and international recognition. Over the years, in his two galleries in Barcelona and in Madrid, Jorge Alcolea has combined its initial commitment to emerging art with the care of the well-established artists who have accompanied the gallery for decades.
For Art Élysées 2020, Jorge Alcolea proposal favors a reflection on the ruptures and continuities in art history through three permanent artists and some pieces of modern art that honor the legacy of Sala Nonell.
